Morava 1 is the house where i grew up – at least half of my childhood was spent here. I had great memories here, so i decided to renovate it but keeping its original form so i can keep my childhood alive and at the same time to offer to many more people and their families an opportunity to create happy memories at this place.
My great grandfather had a coffe shop in Romania near Silistra where they lived. The house was purchased by my granddad in the 60’s after our family moved to Varna from Romania where it lived during the First Balkan War. The house was originally a horse barn and that’s why the house 1a is made of clay. 1b was later added and its built with bricks. The whole house originally had 2 bedrooms, 2 livingrooms, 2 kitchens , 2 cellars , 2 toilets and one bathroom. It is built 1 meter below land level as people used to build them like that in Bulgaria because of goverment tax reductions. The roof is inclined and very low inside as winters were very cold with temperatures reaching -25 degrees and by making lower ceilings the houses were warmed faster therefore cheaper bills were paid for heating.
The yard used to have a parking which was removed during renovation as modern vehicles are bigger than older for which the parking was designed.
We still love spending our summer holidays here and we enjoy Christmas / New Years holidays. During the rest of the year we are happy to welcome you to our home!
